Wetting the bed at night is typical for young children, but as they grow older, they normally gain more bladder control. Adults who occasionally have accidents at night are generally upset, and there is more concern about this happening to them, especially before they’ve reached their senior years. With young children, it is normal to have accidents, but if they continue to have accidents at night beyond the age of six, then parents and the child do become concerned.
If a child has been bed wetting at night from the start, then their condition is known as primary nocturnal enuresis (PNE). This is where the body has never learned how to exercise control over the bladder. Once the bladder is full, a signal is released to the brain to rid the body of the urine. Normally, we learn how to train our body so that we can hold the bladder full, so that release can occur in the toilet when we wake up, yet for some this ability takes more time.
In some cases, children learn how to stop waking up to a wet bed but the problem returns. This condition is called secondary enuresis. If it happens during the day, then it is called diurnal enuresis, and of course this is even a greater concern for children in school and of course for adults. Generally, a minimum of six months has to have elapsed from when control over the bladder is achieved until control is lost, in order for the condition to be considered secondary enuresis.
When looking at why children or adults are wetting the bed at night, these two conditions are considered. PNE is not a major concern for most doctors, as statistically speaking most children will eventually gain control over their bladder as they get older. It is the secondary form that is usually the concern, as the sudden loss of the ability to control one’s bladder is usually linked to some kind of event. This could be a physical or mental occurrence or development within the body, or it could be due to some external factor.
If you are an adult wetting the bed at night, then you should definitely speak to your doctor to identify the reasons why this is occurring. If it is your child and he or she has always had problems controlling their bladder, then it is unlikely that any doctor’s assistance is needed. Instead, training and steps to minimize the discomfort and inconvenience should be taken. Once the type of problem has been identified, it is far easier to determine the best course of action.

If you’ve just become a mom you know how happy your new baby can make you. But you also may know how unhappy your new stretch marks may also make you.
Getting rid of stretch marks is one of the biggest concerns of women who have recently had a baby. Not all new mums have stretch marks to contend with, but as those who do have them will tell you, removing stretch marks is one of their major concerns. But it’s estimated that over 75% of new mums have stretch marks to show off.
There’s a number of reasons you may get stretch marks when you’re pregnant, and stretch marks aren’t confined to pregnancy. Girls can, for example, also get them during puberty.
And it is also possible that you increase your risk of getting stretch marks if your mother had them, so it seems to be genetic too.
Do you have any options for removing stretch marks?
There are several options, one is to just do nothing and hope they go away. Some mothers just use a simple moisturizer and hope this will be sufficient.
And there is the risky and expensive options like cosmetic surgery like laser treatments.
And there are creams that are available that are designed specifically to reduce the signs of stretchmarks, though again have mixed results.
Microderm abrasion is even an option, though not one I would choose.
And if you’ve considered and rejected all of these the good news is that there are less intrusive less risky more natural approaches that are also quite successful, though as stated there are no guarantees. These include such options as simple home remedies combined with dietary changes, and some herbal and natural products, and specific exercises.
Many women don’t realize that there is an alternative more natural, cheaper approach that doesn’t involve some of the expense and risk of some other methods.
So if the cost and/or the risks associated with some methods of removing stretch marks scares you there are other, cheaper and less risky, more natural options for you to choose.

Baby carriages are made from different materials. They are available in different designs and vary in its comforts, support and rigidity. A stroller is a carriage to transport infants or small children up to the age of three or four. A stroller is often called also as a buggy or push chair. The children face forward away from the pusher in strollers while a pram usually has the infant facing the pusher so that the child can constantly be within the full eye sight of the pusher. Strollers are normally designed for carrying one child. But there are strollers that carry two and also three children. It is also designed to accommodate children with small age gap. Strollers to accommodate three children are a recent addition.
Strollers are light and can be easily transported. They are also foldable. The free wheels allow the stroller to be easily turned around. Even a small space is sufficient for this. While you were carrying your little one, slumber may have proven elusive. Sleeping through the night required getting comfortable, and as your body grew, comfort was fleeting. You may have imagined that the birth of your baby finally signaled an end to the sleepless nights. Unfortunately, new moms often find getting to sleep just as difficult during the initial months of motherhood as during their third trimester.
Over time, a lack of rest will impair your ability to function throughout the day. This can cause problems for you, your partner, and of course, your baby. This article will provide a solution. We’ll offer several tips that will help you get the rest you need to stay healthy and available for your little one.
Scheduling Time For Slumber
The reason new moms have difficulty sleeping is because they remain at the beck and call of their babies. When their infants cry, many new mothers respond instinctively by feeding them. This poses a few problems. First, babies cry for many reasons; hunger is only one of them. Thus, feeding may neglect the real trigger.
Second, by responding each time, an infant learns that she only needs to cry to attract the attention she craves. This leads to a third issue: new moms are forever responding to the cries of their babies, sacrificing their own sleep in the process.
The most effective way to address these circumstances is to establish a defined sleep schedule. Encourage your little one to wake, play, feed, nap, and sleep at the same times each day. Her internal clock will eventually take over. She’ll become predictably sleepy according to the schedule you create.
Modify Your Sleep Routine
The schedule you create to encourage your baby to sleep at specific times may require you to change your own schedule. For example, if you used to go to bed at 11:00 p.m., you might need to start doing so at 8:00 p.m. to prepare for the first feeding of the night. If you used to wake at 5:00 a.m. to head to the office, shift your routine to accommodate your little one’s schedule. This might mean waking to feed her in the early morning, then going back to sleep for two or three hours.
Be open to changing your schedule, even if doing so means you’ll miss out on experiences you once enjoyed (e.g. late night television). The priority is to get some peaceful rest.
A Little Help From Friends And Family
You might be surprised by how willing your friends and loved ones are to help. If you’re fatigued from lack of rest, and in desperate need of a few hours of sleep, ask a friend to watch your little one. Chances are, she would love to spend time with your baby while giving you a chance to catch up on your slumber.
You’ll also find small networks of new moms who take turns watching each other’s infants. This type of network may prove invaluable during times when you need a few hours of peaceful rest to catch your breath.
Knowing When Enough Is Enough
You may be tempted to sacrifice slumber because you’re convinced you can handle it. In reality, experts claim that going night after night with less than five hours of sleep will impair your ability to function. It is similar to being intoxicated. Not only will you feel mentally and physically sluggish, but you may make decisions that might otherwise seem inappropriate. It is critical that you are able to identify the signs of exhaustion. Once you reach your breaking point, you become much less capable of caring for your infant.
Sleeping peacefully after giving birth to your baby will be difficult. But do everything you can to avoid depriving your mind and body of rest over an extended period.

Try to instill some sense of security in their minds and attempt to spin a positive angle on the situation. Let them know that they will be fine and they are loved. Let them know that the absent parent loves them too.
Your anger will only serve to make your kids feel worse about the situation. It will also keep the pain bottled up inside you. Try to approach your new life as a single parent as a new adventure. Think of the happy possibilities facing you and try to let go of the past.
Providing your kids with a sense of normalcy and security by keeping familiar relatives around, is a good call. Normally grandparents can give this support. It is good to let them see all four grandparents, this includes your former spouses family. This may be very difficult on you, depending on the situation. However, after the child has lost one parent to death or divorce, keeping them away from other close connections can add to the misery.
In the end, you children need your love. It doesn’t matter that this love may now only come from one parent. Love is magical, you can never run out of love for your children.

There are an increasing number of cases being reported by doctors of young children losing their hearing. Many of these patients are predicted to have the hearing capacity of a 60 year old by the age of 30. However this epidemic is not down to diseases or a virus but the rising exposure to high volumes of noise.
The rise in popularity of MP3s and personal entertainment devices is causing many children to listen to music in earphones without observing the noise guidelines, this kind of concentrated noise damages the ears, often beyond repair. Many children are often exposed to loud noises against their will, for example being taken to a music or sporting event by their parents, although their parents may have no idea that it poses a risk. Dr Martin, Professor of preventive medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland said, “If a sound reaches 85 decibels and over an extended period, it can permanently damage hearing. The safe level for an iPod is 80 per cent on the volume slider. If you listen to music at that level, you can safely listen for 90 minutes a day.”
If you consider that a normal conversation would occur at 60 decibels of sound, a level that is completely harmless to the ears, when exposed to a loud concert or busy motorway, often at around 120dB, this can be very irritating. Prolonged exposure to these levels can cause serious damage. Exposure to noises above 150dB such as a jet engine or pneumatic drill can cause instant irreparable damage. Even noises at a constant low level can cause high blood pressure, stress, anxiety and insomnia.
There is a simple way of determining the whether your headphone volume is too loud, stand at arms length from someone with the music on and, if you cannot hear them talk, the volume is too loud. High volumes can physically damage your ears but in many cases will manifest in an affliction called Tinnitus. Tinnitus is a terrible condition that causes a permanent loud ringing noise in the ear and can often take over a person’s life. Although some cases are treatable, it usually remains present and victims are forced to suffer an unbearable ringing noise in their ear for the rest of their life.
In developed countries, 12% of children aged 12 to 19 have hearing loss to some extent that is caused entirely by exposure to loud noise. Although there are laws regarding noise levels in a workplace, there are no laws about personal exposure.
Treating the rising number of cases of hearing loss is requiring hospitals to create more jobs for nurses.

Potty Training Baby at the Precise Time
One of the most important things that I must stress is do not rush or hurry your child into potty training, this could prolong their process. Keep an eye out for signs that your baby is ready to start the potty training process; this usually is between the age of eighteen months up to two years old; some children may be three or up to four when they are completely trained to use the potty. Your child might start to show their own interest about potty when they see you using the facility. They might ask questions or try and copy you. Some will even volunteer and ask to be potty trained themselves when they are ready. Since your child is probably going to be walking and running on their own and having more control of their body, they may start to have longer “dry spells” where they are not urinating in their diaper or panty pull ups. They might start to tell you that they are “going” in their diaper, a good sign they are ready to start because they are aware what they are doing. This is partly because they are getting to learn how to control their own bladder muscles. You might also start to see a trend on timing, do they have bowel movements the same time of the day or night? If so, it is a good time of the day to sit them down or ask them if they want to use the potty.
You Absolutely Do Not Want to Do This While Potty Training
Do not put pressure on the child to use the potty; this can definitely discourage them rather than encouraging them to give it a try. Using punishment is never a good idea when potty training; rather you must use firmness when talking to the child and letting them know what is expected of them; but do not force or yell at them to “just do it”. It is imperative that the child isn’t afraid of this new experience, or change. The stress and fear could cause your child to experience constipation if you are too tough on them.
Baby Potty Training Techniques That Might Help You Out
Use the potty chairs, put a few throughout the home so that the child has easy access and quick access to them. This way when the fell the urge they are not too far from a potty chair. Praise the child when they make an attempt at the potty chair, using rewards is a great way to help them along the way, but be consistent. But the best thing you can do is keep firm, but gentle and trust yourself and your child and all will come naturally.
There are many reasons for baby potty training from showing your child self control to gaining confidence in a new area mastered in your child’s life: http://www.babypottytraining2day.info .
Childhood years are the best times to discover. A person’s comprehension is at its peak throughout childhood. Mothers and fathers should take advantage of these learning years and ingrain the values of life in their children.
If you’re a parent, teach them good habits to ensure that they’ll know and see the beauty that life has to provide. Make them enthusiastic about life. Instill into their hearts and minds all the wonders and magnificence of becoming alive by living life to its fullest in a positive way.
There is a startling distinction between children learning through self-discovery, and children learning via self-discovery with proper guidance. The first things that kids discover are generally the things that remain with them and mold the formative years until they achieve adulthood.
Suppose you let your children learn via self-discovery. To some particular extent, self-discovery is good because it develops complete independence and self-reliance. However, the understanding process might be slow. In a sense, it is like a trial and error encounter for kids. They’ve to segregate the good from the poor, the correct from the wrong, what they like and the things they don’t. It’s most likely that the things they will like are the ones that appear easy to them or the ones that they appreciate probably the most. And the ones that they enjoy the most might not necessarily be the great ones. Without having correct guidance, what they like and enjoy probably the most might really be hurting them although they aren’t aware of it. Possibly later, if they discover that they picked the incorrect choices, it may be too late.
With self-discovery through correct advice, you’ll be able to leave room for them to develop independence and self-reliance. At the same time, explain to them what’s right and what is wrong. Explain to them why. If possible, cite situations or examples based on true-to-life events to make them a lot more convincing and practical. The more realistic they’re, the more easily the children are convinced. Likewise, attempt teaching them in a friendly and humorous atmosphere. Kids are more attentive and eager to discover when all (both teachers and students) are in an easy mood. You will know and really feel their eagerness to discover via the sparkle in their eyes and by the way they answer your questions. You are able to be certain that the things they discover from you is acceptable to them and will remain with them. That’s why, to be a parent, you must demonstrate enthusiasm in life to your kids.
There’s a third method of making kids learn. That’s via correct guidance leaving negligible room for self-discovery. But there are drawbacks. You take away from them the benefits of self-reliance and independence. The guidance you devote to them might be good and well intended, but they must not rely on you on almost everything they do. They turn out to be decision-dependent on you. There are situations wherein this kind of advice might be worse than giving no advice whatsoever.
You will find parents who underwent hardships during their childhood, strive, and became successful financially. Although they are financially in the position to guide and assist their children to some better life, they rather have that their children undergo the exact same hard experience they underwent throughout their younger ages. Their grounds is to ensure their children will value and experience the same things they went through. This might be applicable to stubborn and rebellious youngsters, but not to disciplined ones. Why must their sons and daughters repeat the exact same difficulties? There’s no reason to. This is like punishing the innocent. Rather than repeating the experience, they should learn from it. Life is too short to repeat unsavory experiences.
One of the best ways to broaden your children’s understanding about life is by traveling. The world – its varied people, locations, and cultures – has a great deal of info to offer. It is perhaps as important as the conventional classroom. If you are financially capable, traveling is one from the best educational experiences you can give your kids. Look for exhibits or world fairs, and bring your children there. Books would be the next best things. It is traveling by reading.
Fill your kids with thoughts of self-importance, confidence, and positive attitude so that there is going to be no room for damaging thoughts. More importantly, fill their world with laughter, love, and understanding. You’ll in no way go wrong.

Anybody with more than one child in their family is only too aware of the sibling rivalry. It is a natural part of growing up, and there is always going to be the odd scuffle now and then.
To try to make it a little easier. You could always try what is known as passive parenting.
Everybody knows that the start of most fighting is when one child tells on another child, even for the most trivial thing, just to try to get them into trouble. Why not set a few ground rules? It is okay to tell on somebody if they are hurting you or if they are being destructive in the home or with your things, but if they tell over something more trivial it is them that will get into trouble!
Instead of always sorting out their problems all the time, occasionally just say something along the lines of “wow that must really annoy you” do not always fix the problem but offer a statement instead,
If they keep coming back with the same complaint, then you keep giving them the same answer. This will annoy them at first, but they will soon realize that perhaps they can sort it out for themselves. This may not always work, but should work some of the time.
Your children should be encouraged to set their own rules for what is right and what is wrong.
Bedrooms can be a starting point. Make sure that the siblings must not enter each others bedroom unless they have asked for permission to do so first.
Making sure that siblings can sort out their own problems can make them grow up to be a more confident person, because after all sibling rivalry is always going to be there.

The baby carrier backpack is changing the way many parents carry out their daily lives while their children are little. It used to be that oversized, heavy strollers and flimsy umbrella strollers were essentials for transporting children and taking them out in public, but these forms of transportation are not always convenient or practical. That is why more parents are now considering a baby carrier backpack as a third essential for parenthood.
Even though this is the main reason parent’s purchase a baby carrier backpack, there are several other things to consider. Today we want to talk about 3 of the most common reasons people purchase baby carrier backpacks.
1. They are safer in a crowd.
Anytime you want to go to a festival, an amusement park, the mall, or even a local sports game, maneuvering through a crowd with a child is difficult. You want to make sure no one runs into him or her, they don’t jump out into the middle of the street, and that no one and we mean NO ONE would have the opportunity to kidnap them. Obviously you don’t want to think about these issues, but they are always in the back of a parent’s mind. You can eliminate a lot of the risk if you own a baby carrier backpack.
When you are carrying your child securely against your back, you don’t have to worry about these things as much. Obviously, your child is safely seated and is not going to run off anywhere and you will definitely notice if someone tries to get them out of the carrier since it is located right on your back.
Children actually feel safer and more secure, especially when they are young and not quite used to maneuvering through crowded locations yet.
2. Look! No Hands!
One of the biggest problems when lugging your children around in a stroller is you can’t use your hands for anything else. If you stop to look at something or answer your cell phone you basically stop walking completely. Then of course when you reach your destination and have to get through some doors it’s an irritating process.
You avoid that hassle when your child is securely seated against your back. Your hands are free at all times and you don’t have to stop to open a door and walk through.
3. They can go anywhere your own body can go.
That’s right. If you have to go to the restroom for a moment, try on a new pair of jeans, or just get to a vending machine upstairs, your child can go anywhere. If you take a stroller you have to contemplate stairways, escalators, and various other places a stroller isn’t meant to go. So instead of being left out while you wait, you can just strap your little one to your back and enjoy every minute you’re out and about with your family.
Literally anywhere you could possibly want to go is now accessible with your child! A good baby backpack carrier will allow you to take your child along without you worry and hassle free. This means the pacing and routines of your daily life are not slowed down and you don’t have to miss out on anything just because you are now a parent!
Melvin Gray has been reviewing, testing and reporting about different backpack styles for over 5 years. A parent himself, he only uses high quality baby carriers backpacks.
Now that your two-year-old is beginning to understand the impact that he has on the world around him, he is also starting to become aware that other people may not see the world in quite the same way.
During the toddler years these “dangers” may include, for example, being left to cry for long periods, picking up on parental tension or unhappiness, and being yelled at. Anxiety triggers a powerful and automatic reaction within the most primitive part of the brain that drives our instinct for survival.
When we experience intense emotions, such as anger, fear, and even excitement, the brain tells the body to release stress hormones that will either make us challenge the situation (fight), or run away from it (flight). These “fight or flight” hormones, especially adrenaline and cortisol, then block the production of “feel good” hormones, such as oxytocin.
Everyone experiences anxiety, but some people deal with these feelings better than others. we now know that our ability to cope has its roots in our childhood experiences. During the toddler years, a child relies almost totally on caring adults to help him to manage his “big” feelings.
However, children at this age can easily become overexcited and will need help to know when they are going too far. This direction may come from your tone of voice or facial expression, or by giving your toddler a break between a period of having a laugh, then calming down. You are a very important role model for your child’s behavior; at this age he will copy not only what you want him to do, but also many things that you would rather he didn’t! One of the most effective methods of getting him “on the right track” is to show him what you want him to do. This period of learning is all about showing, not telling. Let your toddler watch, observe, and try for himself.
By the age of 2-3, your toddler’s anxiety about being separated from you is gradually diminishing, only to be replaced by a range of fears stimulated by his developing imagination and awareness of the wider world. it is natural for toddlers to be scared of new experiences at this age, but their anxiety will usually pass if it is carefully handled.
Children show anxiety in a variety of ways. Some cry, others may become very quiet, clingy, or whiny. Nervous tics are also quite common at this age – that is, involuntary muscle spasms that children cannot control-such as rapid blinking or twitching; but most disappear of their own accord. Whatever the signs, your child needs to be reassured. Each time you hug him and help him to cope, you are increasing his chances of being able to manage his feelings and deal with stress as he grows up. Children who are reprimanded rather than comforted will worry and become more anxious more often. They are also more likely to develop later behavioral problems such as phobias, bed-wetting, or soiling.

How much do you need to pay for a babysitting service? What is the average babysitter rate? These seems to be some of the most common questions asked these days. It is also a question that doesn’t have one definite answer. On the average, sitters are usually paid anywhere from $3-$12. This seems to be quite a wide bracket. This is only because there are several factors that determine the exact rate of pay.
Different areas of location can have different rates. Urban areas in particular may have steeper rates than rural ones. You may be able to get an idea of rates in your particular area by looking for online average rates. You could also survey your neighbors on how much they would consider paying a sitter. If you have a particular preference for a sitter who lives far away, you may have to pay her extra due to transportation expenses.
Number of Kids
Another big determining factor for the rates is the number of kids. You can hardly expect a sitter to work for only $3 if she has to watch over three kids or more. Aside from the number of kids, you also have to consider the ages of the kids she has to look after. Younger kids and babies are naturally more difficult to watch over. They may be hard to discipline and they have many needs that require the babysitter’s attention. You would therefore have to pay a high rate if you have a toddler. You would have to pay an even higher rate if you have more than one toddler.
The age of the sitter is also another factor which affects the rate. Teens aged 16-18 and adults would naturally have to be paid higher than younger sitters. Those who are in the 11-15 years old bracket may be contented with $3-$5 an hour. You need to be choosy though. You can’t just pick a young sitter just because she has a lower rate. You would really need an older teen or an adult sitter if you have lots of kids or if you have young kids that need minding. Young babysitters may not know how to handle small kids or respond to emergency situations.
Of course, you would have to adjust rates according to sitter experience. Those who have extensive experience would charge a lot. Those who have special first aid and emergency training would also want to receive more.
These rates are only for the basic duties of babysitters. Often though, you would have to ask your sitter to perform a couple of extra tasks. You may have to pay extra if you expect her to cook for the kids or tutor them. Other work details that affect the rate include number of hours of work and specific hours of the day on duty. Night sitters may require high rates.
Specific Days on the Month
Some babysitters will charge more for particular days of the month. Expect to pay more for sitters who work on rest days, holidays and Sundays.
There are other factors that can affect the babysitter rate. What you have to really do to find your sitter’s exact rate is to talk to your sitter. Negotiate on a rate that both of you will find acceptable.

During the first year of life a baby moves quite rapidly through different stages of attachment and acceptance of the people around him. In comparison to toddlers, many babies are quite relaxed with new people. Separation anxiety begins later and coincides with the development of language and memory, peaking during months 12-18.
It depends on the unique mix of the child’s temperament and how the parent responds to it. Every parent was once a child and seeing your own child grow and responding to his vulnerabilities can trigger deep memories of your own experience of childhood, and will affect your style of response. For some parents this can be a challenge. Young toddlers may find it hard to cope when their parent or caregiver is not there.
Don’t fuss too much before you go, or he may pick up on your anxiety and become upset. Your child will be more comfortable if you leave him with familiar toys and encourage the caregiver to keep to a routine (but if this is not possible, change in routine will not be damaging to you or your child). Have enough faith in your parenting to know that your child has the skills to manage and is not going to fall apart without you.
Understanding this is important because your child might find separation from you difficult until he has reached a certain level of cognitive development. A baby as young as six months old will catch on to the fact that an object still exists even when it is hidden, but may struggle for much longer to deal with or understand that Mommy and Daddy still exist when they are in another room.
A parent’s absence is more stressful than the whereabouts of a hidden toy, and so a baby brain will find it harder to hold onto the concept that Mommy or Daddy will return. Interestingly, separation anxiety is at its peak at about 15 months and then slowly reduces; this coincides with the development of language, which is linked to the development of memory and reasoning skills. By now your child will have had more experiences of separation, too, and will have begun to learn that Mommy and Daddy always return.
Parents start to model self-regulation when they respond in different ways to a child’s emotional needs. For example, if a child is screaming in frustration your reaction will be completely different to your response when he is screaming from hurt.
Parents naturally pick up on the smallest of cues and respond accordingly. This kind of sensitivity and flexibility is difficult, however, if you are frequently overwhelmed by your own feelings?because your toddler will pick up on your distress and you may model ways of not managing instead.
If you are unable to regulate your feelings, you may be driven to act impulsively, and perhaps inappropriately, or unable to respond at all. If you find it hard to cope, do seek help.
