What may well be the climax for any baby shower is the moment when hostess mom and her guests exchange baby shower favors. Baby showers that do not set aside a particular time for this event are missing out on the fun and expectation it gives. Anyone attending a baby shower should recognize the importance of selecting the right gift for this occasion, a gift that is also fitting for the person who receives it. How does one gauge if a gift is appropriate? Usually people look for three things in a gift. They look for functionality, for charm and beauty as well as for suitability.
Baby shower favors do not need to be exotic or hard-to-find things. Common items of toiletry, such as soaps, lotions, scents, powder, styling gel and shampoos can be given on baby showers. Likewise, things directly associated with babies like, diapers, baby mittens, feeding bottles, toys and baby food are hugely popular for such occasions.
Things that can be used to liven up the nursery or crib are also appropriate. Baby toys, rattles, alarm clocks and even baby jewelry are terrific options. On the other hand, mom could gift her guests with inexpensive figurines made of porcelain and wood carvings.
The money value of the baby shower favors does not have to be much but artfulness of presenting the gifts matters like butter for bread.
Whatever type of gift we choose to give, we have to make sure that the product itself was crafted in colors and designs that can increase the mood of baby showers. Besides this, the item should be unique and not something that everyone sees or uses every day. That is why it may not always be that easy to find appropriate and affordable baby shower favors if we confine ourselves to looking at the stores we go to for our daily needs.
The ideal place to shop for baby shower favors is a specialty shop that deals in them. You might be able to find such shops at malls. Besides these, websites which catalog charming, unique yet affordable baby shower paraphernalia are all over. You will not need to get big-name brands when you shop at these websites because most of their products are not mass produced. Rather they are carefully crafted manually for the most part. Because these sites are devoted to this line of products, shopping there will save you a lot of time and allow you to see a wide array of possibilities for your baby shower favors. Additionally, you will not have to do any special wrapping yourself as all their products are already packaged with such occasions in mind.
Alternatively, you could try creating your own baby shower favors at home, if you have the time between making arrangements for the menu and preparing the guest list. In case you are too busy to devote time to preparing your own unique gifts, you could again drop in at the same websites mentioned above. They are as willing to give you advice as to sell you products. Most will have a client assistance module for old and prospective customers. Their support personnel will include experts who can advise you what gift will be suitable for your friends. You may even have the gifts custom-designed for you. For mothers in today’s busy world, that will probably be the best option.

Making The Right Choice In Maternity Baby Products

When I got pregnant, I thought that I was ready for everything. I had a plan for maternity leave, I had already signed up for Lamaze classes, and I had even chosen the colors for the nursery. However, I was not prepared for the challenge of finding safe, environmentally-friendly baby products.
A friend sent me an article that discussed organic baby products. I had no idea that this was an issue that I needed to be concerned about before I read the article. The dyes used to make most baby maternity products can contain chemicals that are dangerous to a baby’s delicate skin. Additionally, some product manufacturers use chemical pesticides, formaldehyde and other chemicals that can hurt both the earth and my baby. I wanted to support a retailers that used environmental practices, but it took a while to find a good one.
Some of my friends were so worried about chemicals in baby products that they were purchasing organic materials and making baby products themselves. I knew that this was not a solution that would work for me. First of all, I do not even know how to sew. Secondly, I knew that once the baby arrives I would no longer have time to sew anything.
Obviously, natural and organic ingredients in body, skin and hair products are better for the tender skin of a baby, and everyone else. Mineral oil or petroleum products in massage oil and body lotions and harsh detergents and surfactants in bath gels and shampoo, can be very irritating. For outdoor protection, sunscreen can also be made with natural ingredients. Harsh chemicals that damage skin are not necessary.
Now that I have found a good source for safe baby products, I feel as if I have everything under control once again. Of course, I am certain that there will be new challenges, but I am confident that I will be able to continue finding earth-friendly and safe solutions to any problem.

Tables Add to the Learning Stimulation of a Child

Add a bit of light and a few sound effects and watch the fun grow. Your baby can roll, sit and even step a bit when holding your fingers or clinging to the couch. It might be time this year to get a Christmas gift that will really get the party started. Babies love lights. Toys that blink or flash stimulate brain function and really hold your little one’s attention. You probably already have a variety of toys that come equipped with a light show. The addition of a few sounds and strains of music take the fun to another level.
Yet all the lights and sounds in the world are often no match for the simple pleasure of standing and moving. Babies who have reached the cruising stage are not content to sit in one place and rattle the same toy no matter how many lights it has or different sounds it makes. A cruising baby wants action!
This is where toys that come in the form of a table come in. There is a type of musical lights and sound table to suit any parent or baby’s wildest Christmas dreams. A few of the more common varieties are simply activity tables that stand about a foot or so off of the floor. These elevated toys have knobs and buttons for your child to press, open, roll or slide. In addition to the gadgets for baby’s play your child can now stand and shimmy all the way around their little table. Babies love to press the buttons that play music then perform their own dance routines while using the table to steady themselves.
Has your baby already shown an interest in a certain cartoon character or song? There are tables that incorporate most of the major baby friendly cartoon shows and songs. The familiar colors and sounds enhance baby’s interest and play.
One of the perennial favorite light, sound or musical play tables for little ones are tables that include a miniature key board. It is never too soon to create a love of music in your child. Who knows where this early piano tinkering will take your child?
Parents often think about fun and learning. Babies just want to have a bit of fun. There is a table for that! In fact there are many, many tables that not only stimulate play, but also help your child learn a variety of basic facts. Some tables come with buttons shaped like each letter of the alphabet, as your baby presses these buttons the letter’s name is said. The same holds true of shapes, numbers or animal sounds.
To get the most for your money look for tables that grow with your child both in terms of height and interest. Some tables have different program settings that will change the function of buttons and sound effects. This means your baby will move through the cruiser and toddler stages and not become bored because even for youngsters variety is the spice of life.
For mommy and daddy’s sanity, look for tables that are equipped with volume controls as well as an off button. If your child loves this toy as much as most babies do you may soon wish it wasn’t quite so loud. You will also want to consider how the table is powered. How long do the batteries last? How many, what type and what is the cost of the batteries it uses? Many toys requiring batteries are left lifeless and useless once the batteries wear out if the cost and ease of replacement is too high.

Importance of Baby Gifts
There is a whole world of baby gifts, and a whole world of reasons to give them.
The birth of a baby is just about the most wondrous thing that occurs in anyone’s life. It doesn’t matter whether the baby is your son or daughter, your niece or nephew, your cousin, or your granddaughter or grandson. A new baby in the family is truly a gift, a gift of love and affection that will endure for the rest of your life.
Babies also having a charming effect on the lives of neighbors, family friends and others. Watching a baby grow, and learn to walk and talk, is one of the most magical things that anyone, related or not, can experience.
Why baby gifts are important:
1. Of course you want to shower the baby in your life with affection.
There are all sorts of occasions for giving a baby gift. From new arrivals to baby baptisms and christenings, from baby birthdays to celebrating a baby’s first steps. Baby gifts can be given at a baby shower before the baby even arrives.
And baby gifts are particularly special when they are given for no occasion at all.
Whether you’re a new parent, a favorite aunt or grandmother, a doting uncle. a next door neighbor or “just a friend,” baby gifts are a great way to tangibly demonstrate your love and affection for the baby.
2. Baby Gifts can be educational.
Baby gifts can help a baby learn about the world, but unlike some lessons, baby gifts educate in an entertaining way. Certain types of toys, like foam spelling blocks, baby books, and puzzles with large, soft pieces can all teach babies how to relate to their surroundings. Mobiles hung above a baby’s crib help the baby learn how to visually
focus and build attention span. Baby spoons assist a baby in learning how to eat with utensils like a “grown-up.” And soft, cuddly plush toys and dolls help a baby learn how to show affection and attachment to others.
3. Baby gifts can assist the baby’s parents.
A baby shower is a traditional event that is held some period of time before the baby’s arrival. Typical baby gifts that are given at baby showers include baby blankets, diaper bags, lotions and powders, carryalls and totes, sweaters, hats, onesies, layette sets, socks, and baby booties and shoes. All of these types of baby gifts help the prospective parents get ready for their baby’s arrival and to be prepared for bringing their baby home from the hospital after its birth.
4. Baby Gifts can commemorate a special day in a baby’s life and can become cherished family heirlooms.
A keepsake baby birthday gift such as a bangle or bracelet set with the baby’s birthstone, a beautiful music box that will delight the baby for years to come, or a photo album filled with pictures of the baby, can all become treasured possessions. The same is true for baby christening or baptismal gifts such as a child’s first Bible, a christening gown or a baby’s first tiny cross or rosary. These types of baby gifts are cherished family mementos, often kept for dozens of years, and sometimes passed down from mother to daughter or from father to son.
There are baby gifts that would be perfect for any occasion. Baby gifts can be educational or they can be soft and snuggly toys. Baby gifts can be purely practical – such as baby clothing – or they can be beautiful and decorative, such as an embroidered baby blanket. They can be heirlooms that are passed down from generation to generation, or they can become “hand-me-downs” that are lovingly passed from an
older child to a younger child. But whatever baby gifts you give, you can be sure that they’ll be loved by all they touch.
