Reading this post made me think about how we’ve gone about choosing names for our children. My oldest son got more of a traditional name of Nicholas. He was three when we found out that another baby was on the way. During the months leading up to baby number 2 and lots of discussions about potential names, my son would watch the George of the Jungle movie starring Brendan Frasier, over and over again.
Needless to say, after months of the same movie every day we had subliminal messages about it in our minds. One night as the movie was starting again, the credits came up with Brendan Frasier’s name and – you guessed it – our second son’s name is Brendan.
Probably not a traditional way to choose a baby name, but when you’ve been brainwashed by a movie playing non-stop for months, you make crazy decisions. I actually love the name and even though I didn’t particularly care for Brendan Frasier before, I kind of have a soft spot for him now… After all he has the same name as one of my children.
Thanks for a great little post that sparked a lovely memory for me.
