My baby is 4 months old. My husband accidentally bought organic baby food(applesauce) and she LOVED it! BUT a couple of my friends say if she eats organic foods as a baby she will have to keep eating it when she grows up.

Would think by then it would be the child’s decision to make

no, she can eat whatever she wants; all organic is is that they are stating they didn’t use any chemicals to treat the food..

NO! you can give your baby regular food still. Its not like organic food is addictive. Nothing bad is going to happen if you switched from organic to regular. I feed my son both.

Well according to one of my friends her baby only eats organic and can notice the difference in when the Gerber is not organic. Which I know is a bunch of bs. No your baby doesn’t always have to eat organic that’s just silly to say that. I switch my babies food around all the time from regular to organic and she is fine. I even give her organic formula sometimes and other days regular milk based formula and nothing has happened to her she is extremely healthy.

You can feed her what she wants, the only difference between regular food and organic food is that regular food is exposed to chemicals in the soil in which it grows and in pesticides used on it for example, whereas organic food standards mean that chemicals are not allowed to be used in the production process.
The down side of Organic food is that it tends to be more expensive to buy than regular food because the production process is more expensive.
It makes sense to give her food that she enjoys. When she gets older you can make the choice to keep up feeding her organic food if you can afford to, or to switch to regular food.
    Hope this helps

No, it is more important when children are small because there might be more of an effect of pesticide residue on their growth (but nothing has ever been proven).

I see no reason why eating organic as a baby would mean you would have to eat organic later on.

I think that is only a myth. Organic food is not only delicious but it is also safe to eat. The taste preference of a baby would change anyway when he/she grows up. Just like when selecting baby blankets according to the size of the infant, his/her taste would change upon reaching puberty and adulthood. So, it is not bad for your baby to eat organic food, as long as it is clean and would provide the needed vitamins and minerals for growth.

i think this is just another myth to make parents feel guilty for not buying organic all the time. i see no reason why your baby cannot eat non organic or organic foods. organic is only the way its grown.

Watch this then decide what you want your baby to eat. Organic food is Food with integrity.. The stuff most of us grew up on before they started with all of the chemicals and genetically modifying the food we eat.
